Radiocast: Expanded Spanish Web Site from AHRQ
Rand: This is Healthcare 411: Information for better health. AHRQ has
expanded its Spanish language Web site to include more than 35 consumer guides
featuring information about treating disease, safe use of medicines, surgery,
understanding health insurance options, and prevention and wellness. AHRQ
Director Dr. Carolyn Clancy says the Spanish Web site addresses an important
need.
Dr. Clancy: AHRQ data shows Hispanics have poorer health care, and one
contributing factor is their lack of access to health care information in
Spanish. AHRQ’s new expanded Web site gives Spanish speakers the information
they need to be more informed about - and more active in - their health care.
Rand: AHRQ’s "Information in Spanish" Web site is accessible from the
AHRQ home page at ahrq.gov.
Healthcare 411 is produced by AHRQ, the Agency for Healthcare Research and
Quality, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. I’m Rand
Gardner for Healthcare 411.
