Radiocast: Preventive Health Services - Men and Women

Debra: This is Healthcare 411: Information for better health. Men and women have distinct preventive health care needs. AHRQ Director Dr. Carolyn Clancy offers tips for remembering which screenings tests are recommended for you.

Dr. Clancy: Men and women should ask their doctor about the different preventive services that can help them stay healthy. AHRQ has created checklists for men and for women that highlight which preventive services men and women should get and when they should get them based on the Task Force recommendations. There also is a wonderful tool, called My Healthfinder, designed specifically for consumers, that features the recommendations of the Task Force. This tool was developed by AHRQ and the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, and you can find it on the Web at healthfinder.gov.

Debra: Healthcare 411 is produced by AHRQ, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. I’m Debra James for Healthcare 411.
