Radiocast: AHRQ Releases 2008 State Snapshots
Rand: This is Healthcare 411: Information for better health. How does the
quality of health care in your state compare to other states and the nation? An
updated Web site called the State Snapshots from AHRQ give most states mixed
reviews. AHRQ Director Dr. Carolyn Clancy:
Dr. Clancy: The State Snapshots are a great resource for state officials,
health care providers and purchasers to help them better understand the extent
of health care quality and disparities in their states. With this information,
they can take the necessary steps to address health care quality and persistent
gaps in access to health care.
Rand: This year’s State Snapshots include several new features that allow
even more ways to analyze the quality of health care for each state in
comparison to others, as well as states in the same region. Check out the State
Snapshots online at
http://statesnapshots.ahrq.gov/. Healthcare 411 is produced by AHRQ, the
Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, part of the U.S. Department of
Health and Human Services. I’m Rand Gardner for Healthcare 411.
